Starting to plan your epic adventure elopement, but not sure what to bring for decor and accessories? I get that! Less is definitely more in this situation, but it’s still so fun to incorporate personal items and fun decor into your adventure elopement. This blog post will give you some fun ideas for what decor and accessories to bring on your elopement.
Vow Books
Personalized, high-quality vow books are such a game-changer for elopements! First off, they look so much better in photos than reading off your phone. Second, they make great additions to flat lay photos (as seen above!) and they can be customized to your name and date, which is a fun memento to have from your elopement. Tip: Get ones that have a lot of pages so you can continue to write each other vows for vow renewals and anniversaries!
Florals
Of course, bouquets and boutonnières are a fun way to incorporate color into your elopement decor. You can hire a professional florist (ask me for local recs!) or you can make your own. You can order florals off of Etsy or Amazon, or even better, visit the local floral shop or farmers market. Don’t forget to add some gorgeous, high-quality ribbon to your bouquet! My favorite is from Nettle + Silk.
Just Eloped Signs
Bringing along a Just Eloped sign is a fun way to announce your marriage, and it makes a great photo prop! You can make these out of wood or heavy duty cardstock. You can also order custom ones from Etsy. You can hang them from your backpacks, your car, or simply bring along and hold it with your partner for some photos. Most signs say “Just Eloped” but you can also say “Just Married” or “We Eloped.” Feel free to add in your initials, your last name, or the date and location!
Camp Mugs or Water Bottles
Personalized camp mugs or water bottles, especially if you’re planning a camping elopement, are so fun to have. Not only do they make great photo props, they are great mementos of the day. Some people put Mr or Mrs, some put their last name and the date, or you can put “We Eloped.” There are so many design options! You can order these off of Etsy, make your own using enamel mugs and either enamel-safe paint or vinyl, or even order them from places like Vistaprint.
Ring Boxes
Rings boxes are such a simple way to add pretty texture to your detail photos. They vary in size, so you can get compact ones that are easy to pack, or opt for a little more elaborate one that can be customized.
Hair Accessories
Simple bejeweled, floral, or beaded hair pieces can really elevate your look and bring that extra little flair to your adventure elopement. These elopement accessories are easy to pack too! Etsy is always a great place to shop, or you can make your own! Amazon also has some great essentials. If you’re wanting a floral piece and plan on hiring a florist for your bouquet/boutonniere, ask them if they can add on a custom hair piece!
Custom Socks
Okay, these have to be some of my favorite elopement accessories to bring along–especially if you’re wearing hiking boots! They can be hidden from sight, but easily shown off with the pull of the dress or pants. (Also yes, this is my husband and I, and we legally got married in November 2024, and had our elopement November 2025. Hence, the two different dates, haha).
Dog Accessories
Another cute and simple accessory to bring on your elopement is a fun item for your fur baby! I’ve seen people bring little bandanas that say “Just Married” or “My Pawrents Eloped.” Another simple idea is bringing little bow ties or lace necklaces for your pups to wear.
Custom Jacket
I am always a big proponent of custom jackets! They’re so cute and add so much to your outfit. Most opt for the classic jean jacket, but you can get creative with suede or even a cute puffy! Plus, we are usually out until the sun sets, and it gets cold. So it’s a good thing to pack a jacket! These can be ordered off Etsy or made with iron on vinyl. I also have been known to make my couples custom jackets, so if you’re interested, just ask!
Sentimental Items
Want to honor people who aren’t with us anymore, or simply aren’t joining in your ceremony in person? Bringing letters from people wishing you congrats on your big day and reading them after the ceremony is always special. Or, bringing little photos of the people you’d like to honor is another great idea.
