This was such a fun two days! Let me start by saying that these two humans are the sweetest, most adventure-loving people around. I was so excited when they told me their initial plans on having an intimate ceremony followed by a day-after climbing session at Smith Rock. They are both avid climbers (as are their friends!) so they knew they had to have a climbing session to celebrate their marriage.

Bend, Oregon Intimate Wedding

The ceremony day was so intentional, full of love, and so much fun energy. Dakota and Kordell spent the morning with their friends and family, getting ready and sharing lots of laughs. We had their first look under the trees, where they also spoke their vows to one another.

The ceremony setting was gorgeous, with a soft overcast sky and the mountains peeping out in the background. Afterward, the group partied through the night, dancing and playing corn hole. We snuck away for sunset pics and of course, these two climbed on the arch like professional rock climbers! It was such a fun day with so many memories made.

Smith Rock Climbing Day-After Session

I am always a huge fan of doing something unique and very “us” on your wedding day. To say I was excited for this Smith Rock climbing elopement is an understatement. I was so giddy. I am not a rock climber but I think it looks so fun, and climbing at Smith Rock is world class. These two got dressed in their attire and harnessed up, and we spent the sunny afternoon climbing and exploring. I kept yelling, “you guys look so freakin’ cool!” while I was snapping photos.

Of course, we ended the evening with some beers and dog snuggles. We left with dusty feet, big smiles, and full hearts. It was seriously such a fun way to end an amazing two day celebration.

Smith Rock State Park is one of the prettiest backdrops for Oregon elopements. A major plus is you don’t have to venture very far into the park for gorgeous views if you don’t want to! But also, there are so many pretty nooks and crannies to explore inside the park.
