Ah, Cannon Beach, one of the most iconic beach spots in Oregon. When Matteo and Alyssa decided on this spot, I was so excited to show them around and shoot some gorgeous photos for their Cannon Beach engagement session. It was the prettiest Sunday evening, with the most gorgeous, vibrant sun beams. Of course, everyone else thought the beach was a good idea this afternoon as well! Rarely will you find Cannon Beach empty, but I definitely spent the majority of my editing removing all the little background people! (Which is why you should always hire a professional photographer who will spend the time to make your photos look gorgeous and like you had the beach all to yourselves!)

The Location: Cannon Beach, Oregon 

Cannon Beach is located about an hour away from Portland, making it one of the most visited Oregon coast destinations. The town has adorable little storefronts, little cafes tucked into alleyways, and great food options! Plus, you can walk right out onto the beach from downtown. 

My absolute favorite coffee place in Cannon Beach is Insomnia Coffee Co. It is the cutest little shop next to the beach, with big windows, fun artwork to look at (and purchase!), and great coffee and baked goods. Other notable spots are Sea Level Bakery + Coffee, Elk Creek Coffee Cannon Beach, and Bald Eagle Coffee House. Can you tell I love coffee and the coast? 

If you’re looking for a fancy restaurant to eat after your engagement or elopement, Anna’s Table is top-notch. Stephanie Inn and Bistro are also great options. If a brewery is more up your alley, check out Public Coast Brewing Co, Pelican Brewing, or Screw and Brew (American fare and tasty beers inside a hardware themed restaurant!). In the nearby Seaside town, you can grab some beer and food at Seaside Brewing Company.

Haystack Rock is the driving factor to Cannon Beach. The majestic rock is the famous backdrop everyone wants photos with. Plus, if you go at low tide, you can view some pretty awesome sea creatures! Usually, there are even some sweet volunteers who are out there and can help you spot some anemones and starfish. In the evening, enjoy a fire on the beach and a gorgeous sunset.
