These two flew all the way from Arizona to explore Oregon and I was so excited to capture their engagement photos at Secret Beach. We opted for a sunrise session so we could have that soft, pretty light before they headed down to California to fly back home. It was so fun showing them one of my absolute favorite spots on the Oregon Coast for elopements/engagements!
The Location: Secret Beach, Oregon
Secret Beach is a well-known spot for Oregon Coast elopements or engagements. It’s a popular spot in general-people from all over flock to the southern Oregon coast to see the rugged, rocky cliffs and intense scenery. This is why I always suggest if we want to hit these popular spots, we opt for a sunrise or sunset weekday! And that’s exactly what we did, and it turned out amazing.
It’s a quick but steep hike down to Secret Beach, Oregon. I always tell my couples to bring a pair of sturdy shoes and wear those for the hike, and pack whatever shoes you want to wear for photos in a backpack. You do have to scramble down a rock face to get to the actual beach, so good shoes are a must!
The morning was so calm and gorgeous at Secret Beach. We had it to ourselves (an ocean kayak crew came by right when we were leaving!) and the moon was even out. We spent the morning talking about their trip and what they had done so far. I asked them how they liked the PNW, and they loved the area! The big trees and the rivers and coastline were their favorites.
We ended the shoot up near the trailhead, where there is a pretty forest setting. It was such a fun time hanging out with Tess and Jaime, and showing them a favorite spot in Oregon!

The Oregon Coast is seriously one of my absolute favorite spots to photograph. You just can’t beat the moody, dramatic scenery it offers. Plus, you can get so many different looks in one or two nearby locations! It’s such a unique area, and I get so excited when couples reach out and are up for exploring the coast.
