I’ve pretty much become best friends with these two. I met Maddie through a mutual friend when she contacted me about shooting her wedding. We met to talk about ideas and wedding packages over coffee and instantly hit it off. We did some quick engagement photos for them (since Adam was not a fan of getting his photo taken) and during the shoot Adam goes, “oh, this is actually fun,” haha. The day came for their wedding and it was a beautiful sunny and hot August day. Maddie and her bridesmaids got ready in this gorgeous remodeled house down in the historic Whitaker neighborhood, and then we drove out to Five Fourteen Vineyards.
My favorite part about this day was how calm and composed Maddie and Adam were. Having been together for 12 YEARS-yes, half of their life so far- they were so certain about marrying each other it gave them this calm confidence that made everyone around them just relax and live in the moment. There was no question about these two being together for the rest of their lives. My other favorite part was watching and documenting the love these two families had for the bride and groom. There were so many happy tears, tight hugs, and smiles as they congratulated the couple on tying the knot.
I took Maddie and Adam for a little breather after dinner for some sunset photos in the vineyard and we did a pose that we had done during their engagement photos. I go, “you guys, isn’t it crazy we did this same photo for your engagements, and now the day is finally here and we’re doing the same one?!” and they both giggled and talked about how crazy it was that the day WAS finally here. And these two rocked it.
Adam gave a very heartfelt speech in front of everyone about how thankful he was for everyone in the audience, and for his beautiful wife. The bridal party spoke sweet words of the couple and some funny stories of the awkward middle school years, when these two started dating. One groomsman gave some hilarious insight to his idea of why the hashtag, #FinallyFrichette, was so fitting, haha.
After all the to-do’s, the wedding party and their guests raged the night away under twinkle lights and a clear night sky. Maddie and Adam, you two are some of the sweetest humans around, and I am so honored that you chose me to document such a special day. Love you!
xoxo,
M.
